Ages 8 and up. Soundtracker, a robot with a sound sensor. Built by IBOTZ, this courageous little robot explores its environment using a condenser microphone. If it comes in contact with an object or hears a loud noise (such as hands clapping), Soundtracker automatically reverses, then moves forward. Ibotz PicoBotz Robot Kit

 

PicoBOTZ

The Ibotz PicoBOTZ is a programmable build your self robot. The Picobotz™ can be programmed with up to 180 instructions. The programs are written on a PC running Windows and downloaded into the PicoBOTZ through an RS232 port.

When the PicoBOTZ is switched on, if the programming cable is plugged in then the PicoBOTZ waits for communications from the PC. If the programming cable is unplugged then the PicoBOTZ starts to execute its current program.

PicoBotz has three operating modes:
Avoider mode: sensors help PicoBotz avoid obstacles
Sound operating mode : PicoBotz changes direction in response to sound impulses
Line tracer mode: Sensors enable PicoBotz to follow a black line drawn by a felt tipped penComes with software and cable. Ages 14 and up.

To build this educational robot requires only basic hand tools. Kit contains detailed instructions and educational background information on each component used and why. The kit will teach the fundamentals of sensor technology and show you how it all goes together. In fact, you’ll feel like an engineer when you’re done!

Requires 2 X "AA" and 1 X "9 Volt" Batteries (sold separately)
